Spartan Engagement Ambassadors

The Office of Community and Student Relations (CSR), under the auspices of Student Development & Leadership and MSU Government Relations, is pleased to announce the 2024-2025 Spartan Engagement Ambassador (SEA) Program. CSR believes very fervently that students contribute significantly to the greater Lansing region. They impact economic, political, and social development and bring a vibrancy and energy to all the spaces they inhabit. CSR is routinely engaged with local municipalities and regional organizations to build bridges between campus and community. The SEA Program allows us to embed qualified and dynamic students into some of these organizations, all while creating a cohort of community relations leaders.

Issac

I am a senior majoring in Urban and Regional Planning with a minor in Spanish. I'm passionate about improving sustainability, community economic development, and mobility in our cities to make them more equitable and resilient.

I am partnered with the East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation, and Arts, working on community engagement and sustainability projects. These include a green infrastructure guide to streamline design and permitting and a review of the 2025-2029 Parks and Recreation Plan, focusing on accessibility, green infrastructure, and program marketing.

Meera

My name is Meera and I am a senior at MSU studying Political Science Pre-Law. I love to read, dance (I was on an Indian collegiate dance team), and play pickleball!

I currently work for the Meridian Township in the Community Planning & Economic Development department. I have been working on researching the effects of removing a minimum parking ordinance, and I'll be presenting to the Planning Commission in December with my work.

Kylee

My name is Kylee and I’m a Junior majoring in Social Relations and Policy with a Peace and Justice Studies minor. I enjoy MSU basketball and I am a member of a professional sorority.

This year, I am working with Choose Lansing on the Sales & Services Team. In this role, I am working on an accessibility guide for meeting spaces and helping the team with numerous other projects.

Mike

Hi! I’m Mike Caserta. I'm a second-year MSU student majoring in English and Political Science–Pre-Law.

My partner facility is the Office of Community and Student Relations, where I have the opportunity to work with our community both on and off campus. My main focus is helping to create Michigan State University’s new Off-Campus Living guide which also sitting as the Chair of the University Student Commission.

Ellery

Hi! My name is Ellery, and I’m a junior studying creative advertising with a minor in graphic design. I love to read, go to the gym, and go to basketball games at MSU!

I am one of the Content Creation/Communication interns for the Office of Community and Student Relations! I help run the Off-Campus Life Instagram page and create content for the office and the ambassador program. This position has allowed me to sharpen my skills in social media strategy, content creation, and community outreach. It has also opened my eyes to more opportunities in the Greater Lansing area, rather than just focusing on things going on around campus.

Marcy

My name is Marcy and I am a senior studying Communications. I have found a love for running and like to cheer on our Spartans with my friends in my free time.

I’m currently interning with MSU Off-Campus Life and the Office of Community and Student Relations, where I create content to encourage students to explore the greater Lansing area. I also work to represent our Office at community and student-focused events. Our community truly has so much to offer!
