Programs

Our office offers unique opportunities to enhance students' off-campus experiences and foster personal growth. These programs include workshops on independent living skills, networking events with local professionals, and community engagement initiatives that help students build meaningful connections and prepare for life beyond college.

Through these programs, we aim to empower students to thrive in their new environments, explore diverse perspectives, and develop the skills needed to succeed in their academic and personal journeys.

SEA

Spartan Engagement Ambassadors are placed with the City of East Lansing, Meridian Township, Lansing 5:01, and with the Office of Community & Student Relations.  They will work closely with leaders and managers in each of those units and contribute to programs and outcomes that enrich our town and gown community 8-10 hours per week.  In addition, they meet with the full cohort twice monthly for professional development, reflective learning, and community building.

SparkMarks

Join us in SparkMarks, our welcoming book and media club where we explore different weekly themes! Whether you're a seasoned reader/watcher or just starting, our discussions are open, engaging, and inclusive for all. Come share your thoughts, and discover new books, movies/TV shows, and podcasts. We hope to use this space to connect with fellow book and media lovers in a friendly and relaxed setting.

Group Housing

The Group Housing Program administered by Michigan State University is an approval process for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) at Michigan State. Under the Program, qualifying student organizations (“Organization”) may apply to have certain affiliated facilities (“Facility”) approved to house second-year students.  This Program provides an exemption to the University’s two-year on-campus living requirement. The Group Housing Program is an optional program for eligible organizations.
