The Office of Community and Student Relations (CSR), under the auspices of Student Development & Leadership and MSU Government Relations, is pleased to announce the 2024-2025 Spartan Engagement Ambassador (SEA) Program. CSR believes very fervently that students contribute significantly to the greater Lansing region. They impact economic, political, and social development and bring a vibrancy and energy to all the spaces they inhabit. CSR is routinely engaged with local municipalities and regional organizations to build bridges between campus and community. The SEA Program allows us to embed qualified and dynamic students into some of these organizations, all while creating a cohort of community relations leaders.

What We Do

Ambassadors are placed with the City of East Lansing, Meridian Township, Lansing 5:01, and with the Office of Community & Student Relations. They will work closely with leaders and managers in each of those units and contribute to programs and outcomes that enrich our town and gown community 8-10 hours per week. In addition, they meet with the full cohort twice monthly for professional development, reflective learning, and community building.

MSU Off-Campus Life

MSU's Community Laision, now known as the Office of Community and Student Relations, has been promoting positive town-gown relations between MSU and Greater Lansing since 2006. We aim to increase University-Community relations and help students learn how to be good neighbors and community members.
